We've made it to Arizona!! Yesterday's drive was a shorter one. This was great because it gave us a chance to get some r & r. We were going to go sight seeing but decided to get some grub and hang out in the hotel. Flagstaff is really pretty, though. It reminds me of Oregon because of all the pine trees ( I think they are pine, maybe I should ask my tree expert, Jrod Tuck :o) ). Very nice town. And it is really clean. We know we are getting closer because we saw a sign for Los Angeles!!! It said 492 miles away - not so far considering how much we've traveled :o). We had some excitement in yesterday's drive. We drove through a crazy storm that had hail mixed in with it and then we had a little bit of traffic coming through Flagstaff. But other than that, we have no other problems. It's been great :o). Below are some pics of the amazing state of New Mexico.
The storm we drove through was crazy. It was fine driving through it - no problems, but what made it crazy was that we could see where it began and where it ended. It was a huge storm and here are some of the pics:
Arizona was not as amazing on the landscape as New Mexico. But here are some pics so far:

“1 The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. 2 Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge. 3 There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard. 4 Their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world. In the heavens he has pitched a tent for the sun, 5 which is like a bridegroom coming forth from his pavilion, like a champion rejoicing to run his course. 6 It rises at one end of the heavens and makes its circuit to the other; nothing is hidden from its heat. “

OK… can I just say that I have been SO humbled by God’s majesty??!!! Yesterday we drove through the rest of Oklahoma and then into Texas. After Texas, we made our way into New Mexico. And I can just say that all of these pictures that will be coming up do not even begin to reveal the awesomeness of God’s mighty and glorious creative power.
I thought Texas was truly beautiful, but when we came into New Mexico, I was so in awe. Yesterday’s drive was definitely not boring!
Texas was open road, flat, green land, and the sky felt so close that you could touch it. The clouds were amazing! You could see the shadows of the clouds on the ground and they would all lump together and then break apart. It was really neat. Oh yeah, and the cross below is supposed to be the “biggest cross in the southern hemisphere!” And it was REALLY hot. I don’t think as hot as OK (115!!!), but it was hot enough that Chad’s arm got sunburnt :o).
I don’t think I have words to describe New Mexico’s beauty!! So I think I will just post the pics:
